Mansfield: Paul Davies, Richard Edmonson, Steve Bailey, Matt Zequiri, Jayson Mara
In the first game of the new year Mansfield Rd ran out convincing winners in a good game of football. OUP started brightly creating a couple of chances. Paul Davies then broke down the right and his wayward cross nestled in the top Corner. The goal knocked the wind out of the home sides sails and were 2 down a few minutes later after failing to clear a corner. Mansfield Rd were now turning the screw, over running the press in midfield and increased their lead to 3 before half time catching OUP On the break, HT 0-3
The second half started with OUP Reshaping to counter act the 3 man midfield, this took time to adjust too and many added a 4th this sparked some life into the press and Aselford pulled one back from a corner. The joy was short lived when Jayson Mara caught the keeper napping. This goal sparked a series of substitutions allowing a slight opening for OUP Adam Leggett notched his first of the campaign from the bench. It was too little too late for the home side who finished the stronger.
