Honours even in bottom of the table clash

This wasn't a classic by any stretch of the imagination as a difficult pitch made for something of a dull affair at the Recreation Ground on Saturday afternoon.

The home side made two changes with Brown & Godfrey coming in for McGraw & Armstrong as manager Cowling kept faith with the 4-5-1 formation which had served Chalgrove well in their two previous games against Launton. Neither side created much in the first half. Marston kept the ball well but failed to test Eeles and whilst Chalgrove grew in to the game they also failed to create too much in the way of clear cut chances.

The second half saw Marston again domainting possession and the away side could have gone ahead after a goalmouth scramble saw the ball ping around before being cleared. Chalgrove were looking like they could get a goal on the break and should have scored when Paul Coles had a good chance but the 'keeper saved well, no doubt inspired by his excellent Movember moustache. Chalgrove then went to 4-4-2 as they searched for what would undoubtedly be a winning goal and Nick Skiller had a great chance but once again Marston's goalie saved well with his feet and despite both sides pushing for the winning goal it finishedall square.
