Launton Sports Reserves  3    Charlton Reserves  1

Saturday, 02 November 2013

Looking to gain revenge over their local rivals after a recent away defeat Launton Sports Reserves took to the pitch confident of claiming all 3 points.
Facing in to a strong head wind and a low sun the Launton defence was under pressure from the kick off as Charlton looked to capitalise on the weather conditions.
They took the lead from the penalty spot after Launton's Stephen Huntley brought down the Charlton striker.
Although Launton's keeper Craig Kelly got hands to the shot he couldn't keep it out.
Even though Launton were up against it they did create several chances most notably Lea White firing straight at the keeper when clean through.
The 2nd half favoured Launton as they now had the weather conditions with them and within 5 minutes Launton had gone 2-1 up. Goals from Lea White and Luke Moss seemed to have killed off Charlton however the away team came back in to the match and it took several top class saves from Launton's keeper Craig Kelly to keep the lead intact.
Launton substitute Mark Hobbs sealed the victory for Launton after cutting in from the left hand wing and finishing well in to the bottom corner.
