Horspath: Fisher (2), Darren grey,

Charlton: Chris Staker (2), Stuart Brandley,

This week Horspath welcomed the Charlton traffic cones to the new home of local football.

With so little football of recent times it wasn't going to be a classic but the players could do what the gaffa wanted, good old fashioned graft. The home team started slightly the stronger and should have taken the lead just minutes in. But Charlton settled and scored the game’s first goal thru their Chris Staker, a well taken strike after the ball played in the wrong area by Horspath.

A second followed half way thru the second half, Stuart Brandley finishing calmly, the game seemingly slipping away from Horspath. The lead flattered the away team, and to their credit Horspath continued to play and press, the hard work rewarded with a goal from captain Fisher.
Sensing another Horspath pressed again and once again where rewarded with a goal, this time thru Darren 50 shades of Gray. With a win now on the radar for the home team, they promptly conceded to the boot of Staker.  With a last ditch corner Horspaths man between the sticks charged forward, what a sight gumbo galloping towards the danger zone, with the ground still shaking and the penalty area a neon eyesore a wicked whipped corner from Beresford found the head of Fisher to make it 3-3.
