An Adderbury Park team missing six regular squad members succumbed to a very competent OUP side at the Lucy Plackett playing field.The visitors opened their account early in the game with a goal from Neil Lockhart after 10 minutes when Adderbury’s defence were caught napping; the same player adding his second goal after a further 20 minutes. With five minutes remaining in the first half, Andrew Pepperrell-Gray netted OUP’s third goal to give his team a 3-0 lead at the interval.
The home team started the second half with much more purpose, but did not create any clear-cut scoring opportunities. On the other hand, OUP added a fourth goal through Sean Hurcombe after 25 minutes. Adderbury Park did get a goal back 5 minutes later, with a fine solo effort from John Danby, but the outcome of the game was now settled in OUP’s favour.
