Enstone Reserves crashed to a heavy defeat in their Clarendon Cup 1^st round game on a warm October afternoon. An evenly matched first half ended with both teams finding the net twice. North Oxford took the lead after only 20 seconds from an Enstone kick off through Ramsay. Enstone equalised via the left foot of Gardner and then took the lead with another goal from young striker Morgan. Enstone could not hold onto this however and the visitors found the net again on the stroke of half-time through Manning.

The second half was a totally different affair with North Oxford blasting a six goal salvo which blitzed Enstone away. Yet again, North Oxford scored straight from the kick-off and this time held their nerve with the home side capitulating. The impressive Ramsay striking four times and Paintin notching twice. Enstone’s misery was compounded when centre half Norgrove was sent off having received two yellow cards in one incident. Congratulations to North Oxford but the goals came too easy from a home perspective.
