Chalgrove ran out 8-1 victors over Long Crendon (reserves) in this Oxon Senior Division 1 clash.
The home side, buoyant after the previous week's win away at Premier Division Horspath in the cup, were quick out of the traps and a quick-fire hat-trick from Simon Godfrey saw Chalgrove 3-0 up inside the opening 11 minutes. Chalgrove extended their first-half lead as another goal from Godfrey and a rare (but admittedly, well taken) strike from centre-half Rob Armstrong meant the home side went in 5-0 to the good at half-time.
Crendon battled well in the second half but another goal from Godfrey, a fine finish from Craig Coles and a superb strike from James Quainton saw Chalgrove inflict further pain on their visitors. The away team got a consolation goal with around 10 minutes remaining when Ashley Baldwin crashed in a penalty.
