Long Crendon: Duke, R.Scott(2), C.Scott, Farley

Charlton: Veikoman

Long Crendon continued their 100% start with a 5-1 win against Charlton that sent them top of the league on goal difference. Kieran Duke poked home from 6 yards after being unmarked from a low cross from Chris Scott.  Then Ryan Scott made it two, latching on to a perfectly weighted through ball from Callum Ayoola, and duly slotting it past the keeper into the bottom right hand corner.
A third was forthcoming before half time, and was the best of the bunch.  Chris Scott receiving a driven pass from Alex Farley, and after beating his full back to meet the pass, Scott exquisitely lifted the ball up and over the back peddling keeper from a difficult angle and nestled the ball in the inside netting of the left hand corner.
There was to be a penalty to open proceedings in the second half, with Chris Scott being felled in the box.  However ignoring his managers instructions, Chris Scott took the ball from skipper Kieran Duke and determined to get his second goal of the game struck the ball as hard as he could.  Unfortunately for Crendon his technique was all wrong and the ball end up narrowly missing a car on Chearsley Road behind the goal. Crendon spurned more chances until finally adding 2 more goals in the last 20 minutes. Alex Farley had expertly picked out Barney Gordon on the left wing with a firm first time volley, and in turn Gordon slipped the youngest of the Scott brothers through on goal.  Ryan Scott duly rounded the goalkeeper and slotted into an unattended net. Then Farley turned goal-scorer, driving through midfield to latch onto a Ryan Scott cut back.  The midfielder bore down on goal and with the whole goal to aim at opted instead to riskily smash it home into the top right corner.  Despite the score-line, Charlton hadn’t performed badly and were finally rewarded with a consolation goal.  Jov Veikoman causing unrest in the Crendon box before slotting low and past the relatively untested James Bartington in goal.
