Bletchingdon  2    Horspath  1

Saturday, 15 September 2012

Bletch: Milly Mulcock ,  Adam Wells

Horspath: Steve Evans

This was an incredible match.  The first half was a non event apart from a couple of efforts from either team, new   goalkeeping signing, Nick Lacey was superb for the home side.

The second half saw a new Bletchingdon side take the initiative, Bletchs’ Ben Glastonbury otherwise  known as the good looking lad from “the only way is Essex” struck the bar from 25 yards, then the magic....Milly Mulcock struck the bar with a header. Meanwhile, Matty Holton was weaving his magic in his debut at right wing. Bletch were on a roll in the second half.

Milly Mulcock scored a fantastic opener created by the brilliant substitute Alex Bekele. The home side were cruising to victory as they hit the woodwork for another 3 occasions. In injury time, Steve Evans broke clear on the left and slotted it into the corner of the net for Horspath’s equaliser. The match seemed to be Heading towards an unlikely draw when Stuart Wells passed to his brother Adam and he beat three men and struck an unstoppable 25 yard  shot into the top corner. An incredible goal. Horspath clearly showed they will be side to be reckoned with because this was the 3rd match lost by a single goal margin.
