Kennington: Stuart Dunham

After a good result last week for Kennington against Horspath winning 2-0.
Kennington were full of confidence going into the game against Charlton & Otmore who haven't got off to the best of starts losing 3 out of 3 games very convincingly. For the first game at Playfield Road this season the pitch looked in great condition. The match started very scrappy with neither team managing to get hold of the ball. With the height difference between the two teams, Charlton were always going to win the aerial battles but early on in the first half Kennington managed to win a successful flick-on which fell to Jamie Luland who crossed the ball from the right to Alex Crossan who knocked the ball to Stuart Dunham who fired passed the goal keeper to score the only goal of the game. At the end of the first half Kennington went in 1-0 up although Charlton were probably thinking they deserved more going into the break. Going into the second half it looked like it was going to be more of the same with Charlton winning all headers and many 50/50s. It proved a very lack-lustre 45 minutes. Towards the end of the game Charlton were much the team on top although 70 minutes in a good cross from Jamie Luland into the path of Alex Crossan who fired wide from 5 yards out. Charlton will feel hard done by that they haven't walked away with at least a point.
