Riverside: Ben Green (2),
Northway: Naveed Akram

Riverside came out of this very tight game 2-1 winners thanks to a stoppage time winner from Ben Green.
Riverside started the game very brightly and took the lead inside the first 5 minutes. A ball from the left by Dean Simms found Green who turned his man inside the box and struck a left footed shot across the goal to beat Northway goalkeeper Coombs.
Northway struggled to get a grip on the game for the first 25 minutes as Riverside knocked the ball around nicely playing some good football. When Northway finally managed to get into the game they created a few good chances but failed to hit the target on a few occasions. However they did manage to draw level when a superb cross from the right by Lewis Welby found the head of Naveed Akram to head into the top corner. 1-1

The 2nd half was a very even contest with both teams not creating much in front of goal and a draw looking like the likely result, that was until the game entered stoppage time and a brilliant cross from the right by Drew Fowler found Ben Green all alone at the back post to head past the despairing Northway goalkeeper and take his tally to 6 for the season.

Riverside will be very glad to take all 3 points and make it 4 wins out of 4 in the league so far. On the other hand Northway will be very disappointed that they didn't get anything out of the game.
