Division 3

Kennington Reserves  4    North Oxford Reserves  2

Saturday, 14 April 2012

Ken: Dan Croad (2), Matty Crossan, Jamie Luland

NO: Dorran Solomon (2)

Kennington Res stayed in the promotion hunt with a hard earn win at home to North Oxford.
The game began frantically and it was the visitors who scored first when Solomon found enough space to slot past Jack Clarkson in goal. The first half played out without any chances for both sides.

The second half started how the first half should have begun for Kennington playing the ball around nicely and creating chances making the away team work hard to keep them out. The yellows looked dangerous at set pieces and this was how the goals finally came for Kennington with Dan Croad netting twice in five minutes to turn the game on its head. However North Oxford weren't going down without a fight with Solomon turning and running past Cattell in defence to slot home again and equalise. But this was Kennington's day and a ball over to Matty Crossan was controlled then blasted into the top of the net to make it 3-2. Chances were coming thick and fast now and a nicely taken goal from Jamie Luland capped off a very hard fought victory for Kennington who now look to next week to see if promotion is possible
