Kenn: Ben Von Eitzen

Stonsfield: Tim Wyatt 2, George Rednapp

On a hard pitch at Playfield Road a youthful Kennington fell to a 3-1 home defeat against a hard working Stonesfield. The first half was played at a high tempo with both sides trying to get the ball down and play passing football. It wasn’t until the twentieth minute that the first decent effort was made on either goal Kennington’s Jack Smith shooting from just outside of the box producing a fine save from the away keeper getting down low to his right to make the block.
On twenty nine minutes Stonesfield took the lead when a ball through the heart of the Kennington defence wasn’t dealt with and Tim Wyatt ran on to shoot past the oncoming Nick Hill in the home goal to make it 1-0. On thirty four minutes Stonesfield doubled their lead when a break down the left saw the cross in met eight yards out centre of goal George Rednapp on hand to side foot home to make it 2-0 to the visitors. Kennington got a foot hold in the game four minutes before the break when a long ball through the Stonesfield defence was run on to by Ben Von Eitzen making his first team debut he coolly fired home to make the half time score 1-2 to the away side.

The second half saw the home side take control but for all their possession they struggled to make an impact on the away goal. With eight minutes remaining Stonesfield scored a third to put the game beyond the Yellows the left winger produced some tricky footwork on the touch line in the corner to beat three players crossing in for Wyatt to fire home from twelve yards to complete the 1-3 score line in favour of the away side.
