Long Credon made the trip over to Freeland today to find a Freeland side on the top of there game and finally showing what they’re capable of. The game started well for both sides with the visitors trying to get the ball down and play some good football, Freeland welcomed back Dave Tarr to the starting line up and he made it 1-0 with 15mins gone, Long Crendon were still much in the game at this point threatening the Freeland goal on 2 occasions, this was just what Freeland needed as they doubled there lead with Rob Belcher volleying in from close range after a great ball in from Freelands Playmarker Ben Sadler, who along with Tom Mason had been pulling the strings in Freelands Midfield, Freeland then lost Adam Longford who went off with an ankle injury. Chris Palmer made it 3-0 with a well taken shot at the near post, then Paul Salter got in on the act after great play from Dave Tarr made it 4-0, Freelands 5th and 6th were very similar with Tarr and Sadler once again supplying Salter to round off his hatrick!
The Second half Long Crendon started getting back into the game until a superb cross from Tom Scroggs picked out Chris Palmer who got his second with a great header from the edge of the box, Dave Tarr then hit his 2nd and 3rd of the game after great work upfront from Darren Paton set him free on both occasions, Tarr wasn’t finished for the day and after quality passing throughout the Freeland side Nathan Langford set him free for him to take on the last defender and then round the keeper and cleverly slot it home for his 4th. A great win for Freeland Res who keep up their unbeaten run.
