Somerset F.A. - Junior Cup
Semi Final

Coleford Athletic  0    Meadow Rangers  5

Saturday, 18 March 2006

Meadow Rangers breezed into the Junior Cup final humiliating Coleford Athletic 5-0 on their own patch. The omens were not good as Joey Quinn had a free kick tipped away and John Billing cleared off his own line all in the first 5 minutes. Jamie Reynolds scuffed Colefords best chance wide. Ian Hawkins brought another save as Meadow dominated the first half. Scott Balmond opened the scoring after 33 minutes then looked suspiciously offside (He wasn't offside - John H) when doubling the lead shortly afterwards.
Jamie Reynolds hit a weak shot straight at Ty Cook and Lance Cray shot over but it was Paul Griffiths running through a non existent defence who further extended the lead as the half ended 3-0.
Dan Reynolds was just wide and Billing hit a free kick over but Coleford rarely threatened and Balmond should have completeld his hat trick missing badly, but Quinn added the 4th in the 55th minute. Substitute Jamie Olding fired some life into the home team shooting over and Colefords best player Dan Welch forced Cook into his only real save of the game. In the final minutes Jason Brown completed the scoring and an embarrased Coleford team trudged of having been hammered 5-0. Men of the match, the suffering home crowd.
Coleford are at home verses Mells and Vobster in the Charity Cup on Saturday, a 2pm kick off. All players meet at the ground at 1:15.
