Westfield with 5 regular players injured or missing slumped to only their 4th defeat of the season as Chilcompton deservedly turned the form book on its head in atrocious conditions at Ston Easton.
The match began well for Westfield and it was Longdon who after 10 mins gave Westfield the lead with a good finish. 5 mins later and Westfield were 2-0 up with Longdon again finishing well from after a good turn in the box and it looked set for Westfield to rattle up a cricket score.
Chilcompton though kept their heads and kept plugging away as the pitch began to cut up badly and with 30mins gone Guy in the Westfield goal mis-judged a hopeful Chilcompton shot and Chilcompton were now back in the game at only 2-1 down.
Chances for the rest of the half mainly fell to Westfield but a mixture of poor finishing and bad luck in front of goal prevented any more score before halftime.
The 2nd half began and Chilcompton were out of the blocks quicker and with 10 mins of it gone they deservedly got the equalizer with a speculative shot which again managed to squeeze home.
Westfield pushed hard for the remainder of the half knowing that a draw was little or no use to them in their push for promotion but despite dominating play and on a pitch that resembled a paddy- field Westfield could not put the ball in the net and then to cap off a miserable afternoon for Westfield, with virtually the last kick off the game and with Westfield pushing everyone on Chilcompton broke and after a comical goalmouth scramble the ball somehow eneded up in the back of the Westfield net giving Chilcompton the 3pts.
