It was a comfortable game for Aym Higher who dominated possession from beginning to end despite the wet and muddy playing conditions.

There was an air of confidence in the camp from the players after a heartbreaking defeat in the last cup game against Steadfast.

The centre-midfield trio of Calvin Burton, Ibrahim Mohamed and Omer Omer had a field day knocking the ball about and creating chance after chance. But it was the wingers who punished the opposition. Pedro kicked things off for Aym Higher. He picked the ball up on the left of the opposition half before slaloming past a number of players and his long-range shot found the back of the net.

The chances kept coming and opportunities were created but it was the end-product which was lacking. Omar Mouajal was the main threat from the midfield taking a number of shots which unfortunately didn’t have the accuracy to beat the keeper.

Eventually the second goal came and it was both wingers who started and finished off the move. Pedro, again, picked up the ball from the left and drove past the opposition to provide a cross which the opposition goalkeeper could only punch into the path of Omer Omer whose left footed shot ended up in the back of the net.

The team was using the wingers well and the full-backs eventually got in on the action with Ziad Hijazi and Don Limani making runs to try and create opportunities. On the left Ziad Hijazi picked up the ball and played a give-and-go with Pedro before producing a cross which the attackers failed to reach and eventually the ball was cleared. A few moments later, a give-and-go with Don and Calvin Burton nearly lead to a goal but Calvin’s return pass was too tame and the defenders cleared. The second half ended 2-0.

It was a brief team talk by Ayman Suleman who sent his players out early to finish the game off. But it wasn’t the best start to the second half by Aym Higher who started sluggish. The opposition pressing forced Aym Higher to retreat and a dangerous cross was cleared away well by Omer Omer who tracked back well to defend.

Heathrow held a high defensive line which Aym Higher found difficult to penetrate and offside after offside was awarded. Eventually, a through ball from Pedro found Besart Limani whose first-time shot beat the opposition goalkeeper.

Soon after, Ayman Suleman made a tactical change. He introduced Mansor Omar in place of Don Limani at right-back and Osman Kamil in place of Ziad Hijazi. Omar switched to left back and Osman Kamil played in the advanced position.

It didn’t take long for Osman to get into the game and eventually he provided a beautiful clipped ball to Besart Limani who rounded the keeper to finish from an accurate angle.

Besart showed his hunger for a hat-trick by shooting where he could have passed and being denied by the opposition keeper.

The final change by Aym Higher saw Omer Omer come off for Ahmed Toulli who was eager to impress after being given rare game-time. It was a whole-hearted performance by Ahmed, always asking for the ball and making good runs. Ahmed had a few promising moments latching onto the ball and striking the post with a right footed shot just inside the area. But there was also moments of laughter as his air shot lead to a hilarious end to the game.
