Copland  1    Sloane  4

Saturday, 25 October 2008

On a windy afternoon Copland FC were up against Sloane, with a few new additions to the starting 11 giving Aleks Hughes and Oscar-Richy-Blankson their debut. Copland started of sluggish, allowing Sloane to score the first goal of the game after eight minutes.

Straight after this Copland FC started to play the better football and started to create a few chances for themselves. After sustaining some pressure from Copland, Sloane were caught napping and Aaron Silcott had Coplands first chance of the game one on one but failed to equalise. Copland continued to keep the ball and was moving it well and also continued to create chances.

Towards the end of the first half Sloane caught Copland on the break and got a corner out of their last attack. This led to their second goal which was a header from there number 12, scoring a header at the near post.

Second half was a much better half from Copland as they continued to pass the ball and move very well, but still could not pull a goal back. The opposition could not keep up with Copland at times and found it hard to get hold of the ball. It just was not happening for Copland in the final third.

In about the 70th minute Sloane made another chance and unlike Copland took their chance and made it 3-0.  Shortly after this there was a great counter attack which involved Aaron Silcott receiving a pass from Jermaine Dadson and Playing a nice pass through on goal for Juvhan Kellar who failed to score but hit the post. As the game was ending Sloane has added a fourth.

Copland still had time to get a consolation with a long ball by Bertram Williams towards Aaron Silcott and a classic finish by Silcott toe poking it past the keeper. Copland Played well and Players like Bertram Williams who was man of the match had a great game along with Oscar-Richy-Blankson and Rishard Grant. Unfortunately the result was a poor one and with better finishing and a better performance it could have been a different game.
