Uxbridge Town  1    Copland  1

Saturday, 18 October 2008

Uxbridge Town welcomed Copland FC into the Middlesex league by hosting them at their Cranford Sports Ground. On this bright and breezy day Uxbridge started like the weather playing the better football by far.

They were solid in defence and passed the ball out very well.

They also had some great midfield play with one and two touch passing, with good movement off the ball and excellent support play Copland FC found it hard to live with them and were lucky to make it to half time only one nil down .

Goal scored by Uxbridge player number 8 in the 25th minute.

The second half started with a Copland attack down the left with Jermaine Dadson showing his pace and dribbling skill. As Copland started to believe they could get something out of this game the confidence grew more and more for the players as the game went on. Copland were getting more on top of Uxbridge creating chance after chance until finally Aaron Silcott scored to even it at 1-1.

Copland could have won the game with late chances missed by Ahmed Mohammed, Antonio Anderson and Aaron Silcott.

Coach Paul Lawrence was pleased with Copland FC’s performance and said, “With a bit more composure in front of goal we could have won.  Now we will look to improve the squad and the team game by game”.
