Not one of our best performances. But we took 3 points from the game
after being behind 3 times in this game.
After only 10 minutes we were a goal down. Defending was a little
sloppy. We equalised soon after a really good goal - a great cross from
the left by Iain and Vinny powered his header home.
We shouldn't have looked back from this point - but we gave another
sloppy goal away, poor marking from a corner.
By half time we were level again though. Iain getting his first of the
afternoon.
It was a scrappy game a on a truly awful pitch ! you could count the
blades of grass on one hand the rest was covered in sand/dust !
Probably the worst we have played on for a couple of years.
After the break we went behind again. (don't remember the goal really)
We put in a much better performance in the 2nd half. We started to get
the ball down and play and when we did this it was to great effect. We
scored 3 more goals in this half - but could have had even more. 1 goal
was scored by Vinny the other 2 went to Iain who carried on where he
left of last year. A hat trick 2 games into the season ! The last was
created by Vinny who worked really hard to get the ball and put a great
low cross in for Iain to blast home.
Big thanks to Steff who stepped in at late notice.
So far 2 out of 2 a good start. Lets hope we can keep it up.
