I will not hide behind the usual excuses of key players injured, working and suspended all be it true as the eleven players fielded were good enough to put up a half decent show. It was clear to me within twenty minutes that we were not up for this match, even though it was the best chance we have for honours this season. Too many hung over key players and lack of overall resolve lost us the game as once Actual soccer got their noses in front it was just a case of how many. A consolation goal from TONY WELLER and some hard graft from Jason Coley 'man of the match' were the high lights of a very poor afternoon. My thanks to Will Tobin who stood in at short notice, after a very long lay off with an injury 'good to see you back' and to Mark Davis who stepped up from the reserves to add a bit of bite to our midfield, well played Mark, he never gave up, this you can always bank on from this young player. The most excitement and passion shown out there was my half time talk even though it was totally wasted! Referee Roger Hazel was superb, one of the very best referee's we have experienced all season, he handled the players with skill and common sense, keeping a firm control of the game throughout, top marks. Finally it is clear to me that I need to strengthen the first team squad by either recruiting some new players or looking to the reserve team for better support, as we have been operating on a very small squad all season and as soon as a couple of players drop out we are in deep trouble, this can not be allowed to happen again.
