The Hereford side made a disastrous start to new season in the GLS Football Hellenic League against their Wiltshire opponents conceding two goals in the first quarter of an hour and three more before the break.

Four eighteen year old's making their Hellenic debut for Pegasus found the task somewhat daunting but, undoubtedly they will learn from the disappointment and will develop from the experience.

Pegasus with four players unavailable, including three defenders soon realised it was going to be a long afternoon when after only eleven minutes Scott Hodgetts spilled a vicious Matty Saye shot, Justin Miller was on hand to thump the ball into the net. The visitors doubled the score when a home defender deflected a Paul Cooper shot past the stranded Hodgetts. After Highworth was awarded a dubious free kick, Hodgetts did well to punch clear under pressure but the ball went straight to Matt Jack who rifled home. Shortly after Paul Cooper was given room on the left before he unleashed a shot from fully twenty-five yards to score the fourth. Miller who rounded Hodgetts to complete the first half rout caught Rob Laurie in possession on the edge of the penalty box.

Half Time: 0-5

The second half continued in the same vein with Miller completing his hat trick, Saye added two with Ian Mc Sherry completing the scoring. It was not all gloom and doom, although Highworth played well enough, they had one of those games when every shot on goal was converted, they will definitely play much better and lose. The home side at times played some neat flowing football but, were often either caught in possession or tried to make an over ambitious pass. Richard Harrison, Ben Price and Chris Mortlock caught the eye with their determination and ability.
