Pegasus Juniors concluded their Premier Division fixtures in the Cherry Red Records Hellenic League with another Jekyll and Hyde performance when they produced a fine first period and a lack lustre second half conceding three goals in the process.

The home side almost scored in the first minute when Pete Wallace surprised Chris Flowers the United goalkeeper with near post header from a Lewis Jones throw instead of flicking the ball on to other colleagues behind him. Flowers produced a fine save tipping the ball over the crossbar for a corner kick. Laurence Helme and Wallace combined for the latter to see his goal bound header deflected by a defender, shortly afterwards Ian Rodgerson extended Flowers with a vicious curving dipping shot that he was unable to hold and it spilled to safety beyond the goal line. Abingdon almost took the lead on the half hour mark when Darren Braithwaite lost possession and Chris Hooper hit the side netting from a good position.

Half Time: 0-0

On the hour mark, the home side conceded a corner kick the unmarked Andy Marriott headed home, to score his second goal of the season against the Hereford club. The visitors almost doubled the lead in as many minutes when Matt Taylor made a superb finger tip save from Darren Moss. In the 75th minute Pegasus should have levelled the scores when Keith Holmans drew the keeper then instead of shooting passed to Del Ewers, his goal bound shot hit Flowers? legs and rebounded to safety. A swift counter attack saw veteran Mark O?Hara score a second goal for Abingdon United and Wayne Harbert completed the scoring for the visitors with the last kick of the game.
