Berks & Bucks Senior Trophy
Semi Final
Didcot Town 3 Abingdon United 0
Tuesday, 11 March 2003
Didcot beat Abingdon United 3-0 to reach the Final of the Berks & Bucks Senior Trophy. But that is only half the story as Abingdon United finished the game with only 7 players as four players were sent off and five players were yellow carded.
Chris Dore grabbed Didcot's first and Andy Cooper blasted home a penalty to give Town a 2-0 half time lead.
United were much better after the break and applied plenty of pressure without creating too many clear-cut chances. Increasing Abingdon frustration saw Mark O'Hara and Richard Peirson dismissed for comments made to the match referee before Ian Concannon added his name to the score sheet a minute from time. In the aftermath of goal that keeper Carl Wilkins and Chris Fontaine were also red-carded as the match ended in near chaos.
The win sets up a Final against Milton Keynes City at the Loop Meadow on Saturday 26th April.
