Adderbury Park 6 Clanfield FC 0
Saturday, 15 February 2003
Adderbury Park thrashed Clanfield in a one sided affair that saw Joel Bloxham hit a hat trick to take him to 23 goals for the season.
Adderbury Park took the lead on 5 minutes when Joel Bloxham hassled the Clanfield defence into making an error, and when they did, Bloxham coolly slotted the ball around the on coming goalkeeper from 8 yards out. Parks lead was doubled on 25 minutes when Danny Cockle whipped a free kick from the right hand side in and Joel Bloxham met it with a powerful header into the bottom corner of the net to put Adderbury 2 to the good. Adderbury were dominating the proceedings and it came as no surprise on 35 minutes when they made the game 3 - 0. Joel Bloxham was unlucky not to grab a hat trick when he took the ball down in the box before taking past a defender and the keeper before being bundled over by the goal keeper as he was about to shoot. The Referee pointed to the spot and Mark Agnese slotted the penalty past the goalkeeper to take Adderbury in at half time with a commanding lead.
Half Time: 3-0
Adderbury continued to push for more goals in the second half and this time Joel Bloxham turned provider for both fourth and fifth goals. The fourth goal was scored by Mike Kenny who beat the keeper on a one on one situation after Bloxham had split the defence with a through ball and indeed the fifth goal was exactly the same except young Neil Skidmore rifled the ball home. Park were unlucky not to make it 6 - 0 on 70 minutes when Mike Kenny missed from 2 yards out when it looked easier to score, the ball had been whipped in by Sam Hubbard and somehow Kenny managed to scuff the ball wide in a candidate for miss of the season. Joel Bloxham did finally get his hat trick on 75 minutes when he converted a penalty past the keeper after Skidmore had been brought down in the box.
This was a comprehensive victory for Adderbury who travel to Witney United next Saturday.
