A brace from Robbie Wyatt ensured that Chipping Norton Town maintained their impressive league run. Chippy gave debuts to Steve Tavinor and Jason Caffel who were both signed from AFC Newbury both players made exceptional debuts. Tavinor most notably for his last ditch tackling.

The first half was what Manager, Phil Heath described as ?the best we have played all season.? It started well for Chippy when they should have scored within the first 10 minutes with Andrew Helby hitting the post when one on one with the keeper. 10 minutes later Purton keeper, Luke Alford brilliantly saved from Robbie Wyatt. Town eventually took the lead on the stroke of half time when a corner taken by Gary Wright was headed into the net by Andrew Helby.

Half Time: 0-1

The home side came out strongly for the second half without really troubling keeper, Jeremy Winter who incidentally has now kept six clean sheets in the row in league matches. Chippy scored their second on 66 minutes, Colin Tyrell sending Robbie Wyatt through and he finished clinically. Wyatt scored his second of the game and 23rd goal of the season after a scramble in the box resulted in Wyatt smashing the ball home from 10 yards out. Chippy could have scored four but Steve Tavinor?s effort was ruled off side.
