Chipping Norton Town beat Division One East side R.S. Basingstoke by 1 ? 0 in a dour cup match at Walterbush Road, this now sets up a quarter final tie at Winterbourne Utd.
In a game of few chances the only one in the entire first half went to Chipping Norton's Gary Wright who shot went well over.
The only goal of the game came three minutes into the 2nd half when Robbie Wyatt scored his 21st goal of the season, his stunning 25 yard free kick flying into the top right hand corner of the visitors net. With the game petering out Chippy substitute Danny Cleevely was unlucky to see his effort hit the bar after an excellent solo run.
Manager Phil Heath commented afterwards ?I am pleased that we won, it was not very special to watch, I am just pleased that we did not pick up any injuries ahead of Tuesday night?s match against Adderbury Park.?
