Didcot were made to work hard for the win that took them into the Second Round of the Supplementary Cup. This was a hotly contested derby and a goal either side of the interval ultimately proved decisive.
Town produced numerous opportunities in the first half but had to rely upon a contested penalty in the 44th minute to open their account. Glyn Jones played in a dangerous corner kick and defender Andy Cooper was impeded as he headed the ball. The referee saw it as a penalty and Ian Concannon made no mistake from the spot.

Thirty seconds into the second period and the visitors doubled the advantage. Fletcher Hoey raced onto a Cooper pass and drove the ball home past keeper Ben Duke. Milton battled admirably to get back into the game without creating any clear cut chances until the closing moments. A corner kick wasn?t dealt with by the Didcot defence and after keeper Keith McLoughlin had turned the ball onto the bar defender Jamie Heapy slammed the ball into his own net as he tried to clear the danger.
There were no further scares and Town just about deserved their win.
