Chipping Norton Town briefly went back to the top of the table with a hard fought victory against a lowly Clanfield 85.
Chippy started well with Mark Dennis having a shot, which went close inside the first minute. Then Robbie Wyatt had an effort, which went wide moments later. Town finally took the lead through leading goal scorer Robbie Wyatt after excellent work from Colin Tyrell. Wyatt coolly finishing after 35 minutes for his 12th of the season. Clanfield equalisd with their only attack of the half. Steve Winney scoring after 42 minutes.
Half Time: 1-1
Town had a chance to go 2 ?1 up on 48 minutes, Gary Wright winning a penalty but Wyatt?s spot kick was brilliantly saved by McPherson. Town continued to play better football as the visitors? sole intention was on getting a point. Chippy finally took the lead following a corner from the impressive Craig Dore; it was left to Jon Muttock to smash the ball home from 15 yards out for his first goal for the Club. Chippy finished the game in style. A 9-man move ended with Craig Dore?s cross being brilliantly finished by the impressive Mark Dennis.
