Adderbury Park  4    Ross Town FC  1

Saturday, 19 October 2002

Another good day at the office for Adderbury who moved second in the league after this convincing win over Ross Town.

Park started at a high tempo, and they should of been 1 - 0 up after 30 seconds after an excellent run down the line by young Neil Skidmore, who completely bamboozled the Ross Town full back and then laid a pinpoint cross onto Danny Carter who slipped on the wet surface and the chance went begging. Tremendous pressure and some excellent moves had Ross Town at sixes and sevens and it came as no surprise when Joel Bloxham floated a precision cross onto the hard working Mike Kenny's head to put Adderbury 1 - 0 up after 15 minutes. With Kenny and Steve Moseley running the midfield and Mark Agnese and Brad Chard overlapping, Park looked a division above Ross, and other goals had to come. After another goalmouth scramble, the ball broke out on the left to Mark Agnese who crossed a ball into the box where Joel Bloxham beat the offside trap to head Adderbury into a 2 - 0 lead after 20 minutes.

Half Time 2-0

Fifteen minutes into the second half Park were 3 - 0 up when Joel Bloxham opened the defence up to put Danny Carter through onto the keeper and Carter made no mistake taking the ball round the keeper and slotting the ball into an open net. Manager Jim Hay made some changes mid way through the second half, and proved the strength of the squad at the moment, as it looked as if no changes had been made. A fourth goal always looked likely and it came as no surprise when in the 75th minute leading scorer Joel Bloxham scored his second of the game and his 14th league goal of the season. Paul Atherton delivered a perfect cross to Bloxham who took it on his chest and fired a low drive into the bottom corner to put Adderbury 4 - 0 up. Ross did manage a late consolation through Prosser in the 82nd minute when after a scramble in the box he was able to head into an open net with the game finishing 4-1 and pushing Park another place up the table.
