Two goals in the last three minutes gave the visitors a flattering victory at Bowstridge Lane.
Wasps had been reduced to ten men when Marcus Fearon was sent off for a second cautionable offence in the 44th minute. Up to that point the match had been a close, competitive encounter with both sides looking nervy in front of goal.
Chalfont defended stoutly in the second half but the pressure exerted by the visitors enabled Metcalfe to open the scoring in the 72nd minute. Chalfont tried to rally but substitute Gardiner's double strike sealed the away win.
