Sunday, 29 January 2012

Henbury Colts triumphed in the Bristol South top of the table clash at Arnall Drive. Ashton started the stronger putting Henbury under pressure from the start, but the game evened out and flowed from end to end. Henbury took the lead when Tony Evans latched onto a punt from keeper Luke Cox to slide the ball passed Mike Young. Ashton equalised when Henbury's right back was robbed inside his own penalty area, and Luke Cullum lashed the ball past Luke Cox.
The second half started as the first had with Ashton the stronger, but they couldn't find a way past the resolute Henbury defence. Tony Evans started to terrorise the Ashton defence and Henbury should have taken the lead when he crossed into the six yard box only to see Jimmy Heal's stretch for the ball and it to go just wide of the post. With five minutes left, Ashton lost possession in the Henbury half and a quick break saw Tony Evans outpace the Ashton defence to square for Jimmy Heal to score his first goal for Henbury.
