Brockworth Albion Youth  3    Southside  4

Sunday, 08 January 2012

Southside started the game with more gusto than Albion who looked like they were still full of Christmas turkey. Their pressure told and after only five minutes Southside opened their account. Albion finally found their feet and were awarded a penalty from which Jo Gudgeon-Osterritter equalised. Southside were reduced to ten players after a red card was shown. Albion capitalised on this and after some good play Albion’s captain Kyle Bakewell put Albion in front with a well taken goal.
Half time: Brockworth 2-1 Southside
In the second half Southside’s ten players took control of the game. Albion were beginning to make too many mistakes and gave away two penalties which Southside netted. They also scored from some good play. With ten minutes to go Albion decided to start playing again and Bakewell scored his second of the game. Some good defending from Luke Byron prevented Southside from scoring more. If Albion had played the second half like the last ten minutes the score line could have been a lot different.
Full time: Brockworth 3-4 Southside
Scorers: Brockworth: K. Bakewell (x2); J. Gudeon-Osterritter
Southside: Monk (2); Kelly; Griffiths
