Downend started 2012 with a convincing win against Bradley Stoke. First half goals from Ross Pidgeon and Joe Goss took Downend into the break 2-1 in front, in what was a tight and scrappy affair, Bradley Stoke's goal coming from the penalty spot just before the break after a soft yet clumsy foul. The second half was also quite scrappy but it was more open, and Downend eventually ran away with it courtesy of Nathan Parker, another Pidgeon goal (this time from the penalty spot), Cameron Gardner and Jordan Leonard.
