Lakeside welcomed Presbury Rovers to Staverton for this league encounter on a poor pitch in wet and windy conditions. The early stages saw Lakeside take command and they were rewarded after 10 minutes
when a fine ball from Josh Pugh was taken by Kurt Burrows who calmly lobbed the keeper. Lakeside doubled their lead in the 24th minute when the energetic Ace Pulham put through Brett Blake who took the ball around the advancing keeper to extend Lakeside’s lead. Presbury’s keeper pulled off a fine save with his feet when Kurt’s free kick was met by Josh’s header. The next 20 minutes saw a lot of the play being shared in the middle of the park. Ten minutes into the second half, Presbury’s keeper made another fine save from Brett’s effort, only for Kurt to be on hand to fire home the rebound. In the 61st minute, Kurt who was having a fine game on the left wing, turned provider for Brett who beat the keeper at the near post. Lakeside’s final goal of the game saw a quick throw from Sam James to Brett who unleashed a fine effort into the bottom corner from 25 yards to wrap up a fine team performance.
