United went into the match looking for their third away victory in a week. The visiting supporters were soon rewarded when United got on the score sheet after 5 minutes. After a number of exchange of passes in the Sleaford area the ball found its way to Kurt Crossley who gave home keeper Scott no chance from 10 yards.
United continued to press the Sleaford with Courtney, Crossley, Watts, Hyland and Scutt all having shots saved by Scott or wide of the goal. Also during this time United hit the woodwork twice. Little was seen of the Sleaford attack with Stevens and Davison keeping at tight grip on them. This allowed Parker and Drysdale to aid the attack from full back positions. Margarson in the United goal was seeing little of the ball and only gathering the odd ball over the top. The second goal United deserved came 5 minutes from half time. Paul Watts was brought down in the box. He picked himself up and gave Scott no chance from the spot.
The second half started with United on the attack and within 3 minutes had scored number three. A right wing cross from Watts was met by Arron Scutt who leaning back beat Scott with a shot into the corner. Andy Reeson replaced McCauley Parker at this stage with Ben Drysdale moving to left back and Reeson taking his place on the right. On 55 minutes United's Callum Hyland was sent off by referree Bedford for dissent. Then Watts brings out another fine save from Scott. Sleaford are beginning to find their way more into the game, however unable to force any problems for Martyn Margarson. With 65 minutes on the clock a United corner was not fully cleared and the ball fell to Andy Reeson on the edge of the area and his shot into the top corner gave Scott no chance. At this stage Josh Bartlett replaced John Courtney. Sleaford continued to press with the one man advantage but caused no major problems to the United goal. Then 2 minutes from time Scutt hits the bar and Watts headed over from 5 yards. Shortley afterwards the final whistle blows and United have gained another 3 points to move upto third into the table.
