Saturday, 22 March 2008

Desborough hot shot Michael Byrne fired his side into a three way tie for second place while inching Blue Cross closer to the relegtion trapdoor.

A sixth minute opener by Byrne gave Desborough a great start despite home protests for handball in the build up and the striker doubled Ar Tarn's lead three minutes before the interval, converting a disputed spot kick.

A twice taken Scott McGregor penalty on the hour, awarded for a foul on Marc Keogh, gave Wootton hope but with ten minutes to go Byrne completed his hat trick to wrap up Desborough's success.
