New St Neots manager Marvin Johnson enjoyed a winning start at the helm as the Saints overcame the Doughboys for the first time in four top flight meetings.

Kevin Byrne gave the Saints the lead against his old club on the hour, volleying in after John Hall's free kick was headed back across goal by Luigi Rocco. 

Tim Wooding equalised for Wellingborough two minutes later, netting with a 30 yard free kick.

Rocco restored St Neots' advantage in the first minute of the second half scoring with a deflected shot after Hall's free kick was only half cleared and Dean McElroy sealed victory on the hour with a well struck shot after advancing on the overlap to collect Danny Marlow's through ball.
