Harrowby United  1    Raunds Town  9

Saturday, 24 September 2005

Raunds notched up the season's biggest victory so far to move into the top three of the Premier Division. The Arrows had no answer as a rampant Shopmates tore them apart, and it looks to be a long hard season ahead for the Lincolnshire club. Manager Nick Ashby put Raunds on the road to victory with a well placed header after ten minutes and Matty Curtis added a second four minutes later. Richard Tanner added a 16th minute third and Curtis scored his second after 25 minutes. Three minutes before the interval Adam Hancock made it five for the Shopmates from 20 yards before the home side's only moment to remember saw James Baxter reduce the arrears from close range after 44 minutes.

Carl Tallents marked his return from a shoulder injury by heading a sixth Raunds goal on the hour and five minutes later Jed Ainge made it seven. Tanner scored his second from the penalty mark after 80 minutes with Tallents rounding off the scoring four minutes from time.
