Harrowby United  2    Blackstones  3

Tuesday, 06 September 2005

Stones moved off the foot of the table with their first win of the campaign. In the first half Tony Lowther's men looked set to run riot but wasted several openings. They were on top from the third minute when Dan Jolly gave them the lead, and the advantage was doubled by Jamie Gilsenan after 16 minutes who turned in a deflected effort from Kevin ainslie. Mark Wilson reduced the arrears sixty seconds later, but the two goal margin was restored on the half hour by Jolly's second of the evening. Arrows player manager Jason Harrison scored his side's second goal after 49 minutes, punishing a weak clearance by former Arrows keeper Ian Flavell, and the home side produced a much better display in the second period.
