Potton United  2    Northampton Spencer  1

Saturday, 03 September 2005

A Darren Frost penalty miss cost Spencer their unbeaten record as the Royals continued their improvement in fortunes. Frost gave the Millers the lead after 17 minutes with his seventh goal of the season, but Potton were quick to respond. Wes Byrne continued his good form in front of goal with a 20th minute equaliser from Andy Carter's cross and four minutes later Mark Bryant put the Royals ahead from Paul Garrett's free kick. Potton keeper Brad Gillham made some fine saves to keep his side in the lead. With ten minutes remaining Spencer were awarded a spot kick, but Frost failed to convert.
