The Shopmates suffered their first league defeat of the campaign as the Tigers began to show their potential after a poor start to the season. Holbeache achieved their second victory despite having Steve Barnes red carded for retaliation in the first half. Early on Martin Eldridge forced home keeper Chris Jones into action while a Pete Sneddon free kick for the Shopmates was narrowly wide. Tigers keeper Kevin Cross thwarted Sneddon and Richard Tanner while Tom Gosling was narrowly wide for Holbeach. Darren Cundy netted the vital goal, a close range header from an Omar Joof cross, after 65 minutes. Tigers boss Shaun Keeble was ordered from the dugout during the game.
