In a highly entertaining and fiercely competitive game at Playfield Road Horsepath emerged 3-1 victors. The home side started brightly but Horsepath came into the game more and more and just had the edge’, and on 23 minutes they took the lead when after a long throw into the box the resultant scramble ended when Elliot Obrien latched onto the loose ball to fire home from close range. Three minutes later home keeper Neil Purves came to his sides rescue when a Horsepath forward clean through saw his shot deflect off of Purves legs and go out for a corner. With the game going from end to end at a high tempo Kennington were unlucky not to draw level on 31 minutes when a  angled lob shot from twenty five yards from Stuart Dunham rebounded off the far post and onto the keeper to safety. Trailing 1-0 at half time Kennington came out for the second half fighting for every ball, but Horsepath looked the more dangerous going forward and on the hour they doubled their lead when Sam Gordon scored from inside the box after being put through. The home side weren’t finished though and stormed back with a goal on 62 minutes when Michael Fisher found himself clean through and lobbed the oncoming keeper to record his first goal for the club. The game was now in the balance with tackles flying in from both sides but on 68 minutes Paul Cooper over stepped the mark with a lunging challenge which was rewarded with a deserved red card. With the away side down to ten men  Kennington piled on the pressure but failed to create a clear cut chance, then on 85 minutes they were caught on the break and Elliot OBRIEN grabbed his second goal to make the game safe for Horsepath and a 3-1 victory.
